Good Wine Comes From Happy Bottles

Deck the Halls

Man, Christmas is the best. People put colored lights up everywhere, lug trees into their homes, and tell their children that a very large man in a fur coat is going to sneak into their home at night.

But the season has it's downsides, too -- like all these "ugly Christmas sweater" parties. I don't have an ugly Christmas sweater. My Grandma always gave me cash. Or books. Not ugly sweaters. Also, sometimes it's hard to know what gifts to give people. I mean, you know you ought to give them something, but what?

Now, every retailer in the world wants to tell you that THEY can provide the greatest, nay, the perfect gift. I won't presume to have that mythical übergift, but I bet there's someone on your list who would love a custom-built wine rack.

And did I mention they're on sale?

Cyber Monday

Cyber Monday, like it's big brother Black Friday, is an entirely manufactured holiday, built solely to sell things on the internets. It has no significance other than the fact that things are cheaper online for one day.

Meh, I can live with that.

And so in the spirit of the cyber season, I am offering, for one day only, five unique wine racks, each at least 50% off! How's that for holiday cheer?

Head over to the special Cyber Monday page to get in on this sweet cyber action!

Update: Sorry everybody, the sale is over! However, keep an eye out for more holiday deals coming soon!

On Customization

In an effort to provide you the very best wine rack purchasing experience, we've been changing up the way the store works. I could describe it here… or I could utilize one of the greatest educational innovations of our age– the infographic.

And there you have it. Pick the rack, pick the wood, and tell me whether or not you want it to look shiny.

Introducing Two New Designs!

Hey look -- new stuff! I just added two new designs, the Hamilton and the Magnum.

Ok, yeah, all I did with the Hamilton was flip over a Niner, but I’m telling you it counts as a new design! It’s leveled out better for its new position, and the feet are on the correct side. Plus, it now holds TEN bottles, and it fits in that little space between the counter and the cupboard above it (in most kitchens, at least).

The Magnum is a simple thing, really. But if you have an oversized bottle of wine, or a regular-sized one you want to show off, this may be for you.

Anyway, I am really excited with how the first ones are turning out -- I hope you like them! Check them out in the store!

(Oh, and if you’re wondering why it’s called “The Hamilton,” it’s because George Alexander Hamilton was a great man. That’s why.)

Wine Rack Giveaway

Sometimes free stuff can be pretty lame. You know, like the pen you have with an auto repair shop’s name on it. But sometimes free stuff can be awesome. I believe that this is the latter.

I am giving away a wine rack (The Sixer) to one lucky person! If you want a shot at it, head over to Terroirist.com and enter by leaving a comment. To be eligible, you must also “like" Matt's Racks on Facebook. The contest will run until Sunday, June 17 at 11:59pm PT, at which time a winner will be chosen randomly from the comments, and I will contact that person to find out where to ship his or her brand-spankin’ new, hand-built wine rack.

Thanks to David White and Terroirist for hosting the giveaway. Good luck, everybody!

PS. Be sure to leave your real email address in your comment. It won't be made public, and it's the only way we have to contact you after the contest.
